Luscious Fig and Berry Smoothie Bowl

I am super excited to introduce you to my smooth and luscious Fig and Berry Smoothie Bowl! One of the best things about summer is all of the fresh, seasonal fruit such as strawberries, mangoes, blueberries, blackberries, watermelons, raspberries, cherries, grapes, strawberries and figs. Figs are undeniably one of the most beautiful and delicious  fruits in the world, and while they are believed to have originated in the Middle East, they are now grown in many parts of the world, including Australia.

You have no doubt seen an abundance of figs at your local grocer and farmers markets over the last couple of months, and you better get in quick! Fig season in Australia is short - they are available from late summer until mid autumn. To celebrate these beautiful fruits, I decided to make my smooth and luscious Fig and Berry Smoothie Bowl for you.

What is great about this recipe is that you can buy the figs when they are in season, roughly chop them up and store them in an airtight container in your freezer for up to 3 months. By doing this, you are able to make this Fig and Berry Smoothie Bowl in the cooler months; although in saying that, you're most likely reaching for a warm and cosy meal for breakfast, like porridge.
